Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Technical Architect to lead a major technology transformation programme focused on replacing two legacy operational systems with a modern, AI-first SaaS platform. In collaboration with the CTO, Director of Engineering, and various technology teams, the architect will own the architecture development from current state to future state, addressing how the new platform will integrate within a complex operational ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery workshops with stakeholders to identify operational processes and requirements.
- Map existing business processes and technology landscape, including legacy systems and integrations.
- Translate business requirements into a clear future architecture and technical blueprint.
- Produce High-Level Designs (HLDs), architecture diagrams, and supporting architectural artefacts.
- Design integration architecture across various operational systems and third-party services.
- Drive adoption of modern architecture principles, including Azure and event-driven architectures.
- Establish architectural standards for consistent application across the programme.
- Provide technical assurance on functionality, performance, and scalability of solutions.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a Technical Architect or Systems Architect, particularly in core system replacement projects.
- Proven ability to design architectures based on business processes and technical requirements.
- Experience with complex systems involving multiple interfaces and third-party integrations.
- Strong knowledge of Azure architecture or other cloud-based transformation experience.
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture, APIs, and modern integration strategies.
- Experience transitioning from legacy ESB environments to modern architectures.
- Understanding of modern data architectures, preferably Databricks or Microsoft Fabric.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.
