Overview
We are seeking a Senior Test Engineer to join our Testing Services team, focusing on delivering high-quality testing services across a range of telecommunications and network infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to own the test design and execution processes, ensuring comprehensive coverage and adherence to quality standards. This hybrid role involves attending Vodafone office hubs and occasional customer site visits, and requires current SC clearance.
Responsibilities
- Own test design and execution for assigned workstreams across the VBTS estate.
- Review requirements and project documentation to identify test scenarios and coverage gaps.
- Produce and peer-review test scripts, test cases, and execution evidence to sign-off standard.
- Lead defect triage, root-cause analysis, and retest coordination across teams.
- Validate test coverage before execution windows open for various testing phases.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Test Engineers and drive script quality.
- Maintain ALM discipline including test case structure and defect lifecycle management.
- Represent testing in technical design discussions and escalate risks with proposed mitigations.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' relevant telecom/network testing experience.
- Strong QA and test industry knowledge of standards and methodologies.
- Proven test design ownership on complex infrastructure or service transition programmes.
- Excellent organizational and stakeholder management skills in customer-facing settings.
- Proficient in Excel and strong skills in Microsoft Office, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Experience in customer-facing environments is advantageous.
- Familiarity with test automation and AI-assisted test design is a plus.
- ISTQB Foundation certification preferred; relevant network/cloud certifications are desirable.
