Overview
The Vendor Performance Consultant will work with an enterprise organization specializing in a multi-vendor technology delivery model, focusing on the establishment of a robust framework for measuring and reporting on vendor performance. The consultant will collaborate with technology leadership to design comprehensive plans and processes, ensuring a consolidated view of delivery partner performance against contractual commitments and quality metrics. This role emphasizes building a repeatable framework rather than merely maintaining existing processes.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement a vendor performance management framework for strategic technology partners.
- Define a standardized set of KPIs and metrics to assess vendor performance consistently.
- Build processes to aggregate data from various sources into a unified performance view.
- Establish governance and reporting structures for CxO-level review, including scorecards and dashboards.
- Collaborate with vendor management and delivery leads to align metrics with SLAs.
- Work with vendor account leads to agree on data provision and reporting standards.
- Identify tracking gaps and recommend improvements in tools or processes.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders, including the CTO.
Requirements
- Proven experience in designing vendor performance frameworks within large enterprise environments.
- Direct experience managing relationships with tier-1 system integrators.
- Strong background in data aggregation and reporting, ideally with tools like Jira and BI/reporting software.
- Experience operating at CxO level, converting operational details into executive insights.
- Background in technology delivery governance, PMO, or vendor management.
- Familiarity with regulated organizations such as financial services or telecommunications preferred.
- Desirable experience in consulting (Big 4 or boutique firms) and vendor scorecarding frameworks.
- Experience setting up a PMO or governance function from the ground up is a plus.
