Overview
The Vessel Coordinator will oversee the safe and efficient operations of an array-cables termination vessel during a major offshore construction program. Working closely with contractors and vessel crews, the coordinator will ensure compliance with project procedures and HSE expectations while facilitating effective communication among all stakeholders. This role demands meticulous planning, logistics coordination, and operational support to ensure seamless offshore activities.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily activities with the Marine and Helicopter Coordination Centre.
- Act as the primary operational point of contact between contractors, vessel crews, offshore teams, and onshore stakeholders.
- Schedule and facilitate meetings while maintaining clear communication across project interfaces.
- Coordinate relevant vessel operations within the field, supporting logistics for service operation vessels, jack-up vessels, and crew-transfer vessels.
- Submit and verify vessel activity reports and provide operational input to Daily Planning Meetings.
- Support HSE initiatives and promote offshore safety culture through safety walks and compliance checks.
- Identify and propose improvements to offshore site management tools and processes.
Requirements
- Legal eligibility to work in the United Kingdom is mandatory.
- Medior or senior-level experience in vessel coordination or offshore operations support.
- Valid GWO Sea Survival, Working at Heights, First Aid, Fire Awareness, and Manual Handling training.
- Valid HUET with CA-EBS certification and offshore medical certification, including Chester Step Test.
- Experience in coordinating marine, helicopter, crew-change, port-call, and cargo activities in an offshore construction environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across offshore and onshore interfaces.
- Ability to provide a compliant personal PC or iPhone with required security software installed.
