Overview
The Senior Developer / Development Manager will take a leading role in advancing onshore wind and battery storage projects for an independent power producer. Working closely within a small senior development team, the contractor will focus on driving advanced projects forward, ensuring timely progression while shaping the future of the development team. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact from day one in a fully remote capacity.
Responsibilities
- Lead planning workstreams for advanced onshore wind projects in Scotland.
- Progress battery energy storage system (BESS) projects alongside existing solar sites.
- Manage relationships with planning, environmental, and technical consultants.
- Support the wider development pipeline by identifying and advancing new opportunities.
- Resolve planning and technical issues proactively to maintain project timelines.
- Provide oversight and direction to contractors ensuring project objectives are met.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of experience in UK renewables development, focusing on onshore wind.
- Experience with the Section 36 process or similar large-scale consenting regimes.
- Background in BESS development, particularly in co-location or retrofit scenarios.
- Proven ability to manage external consultants and critically assess their outputs.
- Demonstrated capability to work autonomously on a contract basis.
