Overview
The VMware Subject Matter Expert (SME) will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of virtualization services within secure environments for a 6-month project. The contractor will collaborate with technical stakeholders to support infrastructure delivery, focusing on creating reliable and secure infrastructure solutions.
Responsibilities
- Support infrastructure design, implementation, and optimization.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and maintain system performance and availability.
- Conduct data centre audits and update High-Level and Low-Level Design (HLD/LLD) documentation.
- Support VMware installation and rollout across data centres.
- Develop operational guides, installation runbooks, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams and promote best practices.
Requirements
- Strong VMware and virtualization expertise.
- Experience in infrastructure technology management and delivery.
- Knowledge of secure, regulated, or high-assurance environments.
- Experience with infrastructure documentation, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- UK public sector experience is highly desirable.
- Relevant technical certifications are an advantage.
