Overview
We are seeking a skilled and DV Cleared Platform Engineer to support a significant cloud transformation program within a Defence context. The successful contractor will work closely with a team of engineers to design, build, and enhance secure cloud infrastructure, primarily utilizing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Kubernetes. This role offers an opportunity to work on technically challenging projects while ensuring the delivery of critical government services.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure using GCP and Kubernetes.
- Develop and improve automation, infrastructure provisioning, and deployment processes.
- Implement and optimise CI/CD pipelines to support efficient software delivery.
- Support containerised applications, ensuring platform reliability, availability, and performance.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and contribute to continuous platform improvements.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, and security specialists to deliver robust cloud solutions.
Requirements
- Active DV (Developed Vetting) clearance is essential.
- Strong commercial experience with GCP and Kubernetes, including deployment, configuration, and operational support.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, and automation tooling.
- Scripting experience using Python, Bash, or similar languages.
- Good understanding of CI/CD, containerisation, and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience delivering secure, resilient infrastructure within complex technical environments.
- Previous experience working in Defence, National Security, or other highly secure government programmes is advantageous.
