Software Engineer

Overview

The Software Engineer will play a crucial role in a central government program, working closely with a collaborative Agile team. They will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining web applications and APIs, utilizing their expertise in Python and Django, as well as deploying services on AWS. This position offers the opportunity to impact significant governmental initiatives, with an initial contract length of three months.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain web applications and APIs using Python and Django.
• Develop and deploy services on AWS.
• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development and live environments.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with Python and Django.
• Hands-on AWS experience with services like EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, or ECS.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
