VP

Overview

The VP of Analytics Engineering will drive the development of a new Analytics Engineering capability within a leading global private equity fund. This role, positioned at a VP level, requires strong engineering foundations and the ability to lead a small engineering team while collaborating closely with senior business and investment stakeholders. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in shaping architecture, delivery standards, and translating complex business requirements into scalable data products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical direction and delivery of a new Analytics Engineering capability.
  • Act as the primary technical authority across architecture, data modelling, engineering patterns, and platform design.
  • Supervise a small engineering team from both technical and delivery perspectives.
  • Engage with senior business and investment stakeholders to translate problems into scalable technical solutions.
  • Establish and uphold standards relating to data quality, reconciliation, lineage, testing, and governance.
  • Design scalable integrations, data models, and production engineering workflows.
  • Contribute to integrating AI and automation to enhance engineering delivery and data workflows.
  • Support the growth and structure of the Analytics Engineering team.

Requirements

  • Proven background in software or data engineering.
  • Experience leading small engineering teams with technical credibility.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data modelling.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and managing production data platforms or data products from end to end.
  • Ability to challenge engineering decisions on architecture, modelling, and production design.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the confidence to work with senior non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in deriving technical solutions from ambiguous business problems.
  • Background in fintech, insurtech, insurance, investment management, or financial services is highly desirable.
