Overview
The Research Officer (Data Analyst) will play a crucial role in supporting the data management and analytical needs of a Public Sector organisation. Collaborating closely with the Senior Researcher and Data Analyst, the successful candidate will leverage their expertise in Excel and various data analysis tools to ensure the highest quality of research output. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment and contribute to significant projects over a 23-month contract, with potential for extension.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the day-to-day management of research databases.
- Carry out cleaning, querying, and maintaining Excel workbooks for data tasks.
- Manipulate data using Excel and Power BI to produce analytical reports.
- Analyze information gathered for research purposes and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Take ownership of project objectives and targets.
- Support copy-editing and proofreading of reports for consistency.
- Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to establish effective working relationships.
- Assist with other tasks within the Policy and Research Team as required.
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including Power Query and Macros.
- Experience with MS Access, Power BI, SQL, R, and Python.
- Experience in managing and analyzing complex and sensitive data for research.
- Background in large-scale research projects and datasets.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Experience working independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and command of English grammar.
