Overview
The 3rd Line Technical Specialist will play a key role in a busy Technical Services Team, reporting to the Technical Support Manager. This contract position involves delivering complex technical solutions and managing smaller change initiatives while collaborating closely with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with governance standards and overall technical strategy. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in infrastructure and project delivery, managing multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring operational alignment with enterprise architecture principles.
Responsibilities
- Deliver project implementation across IT infrastructure.
- Create Low-Level Designs (LLDs) and configuration workbooks for implementations, adhering to internal standards.
- Plan and execute build, configuration, and migration tasks across on-premises and cloud platforms.
- Ensure compliance of technical implementations with the company's change control process.
- Complete production handovers with Service Operations, including knowledge articles and monitoring readiness.
- Provide Early Life Support (ELS) post go-live, tracking known errors and scheduling readiness reviews.
- Operate within PMO stage-gate governance; prepare status updates and ensure solutions meet design requirements.
- Liaise with external suppliers for primary delivery, validating designs and checking deliverables against contracts.
Requirements
- Proficient in ITIL practices related to change management.
- Strong understanding of core IT infrastructure components such as compute, storage, and virtualization.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft ecosystem technologies including Windows Server, Active Directory, and Intune.
- Familiarity with enterprise networking, SD-WAN architecture, and optimisation.
- Hands-on experience with network switching (Aruba/Cisco) and firewall technologies.
- Expertise in Windows desktop deployment and lifecycle management using Intune/SCCM.
- Demonstrated seniority in roles like Principal Infrastructure Engineer or Solutions Architect is preferred.
- Ability to work in a hybrid setting, with a minimum of three days per week in the office.
