Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Overview

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will play a pivotal role in the migration of data center-hosted workloads to Azure while providing technical support during this major modernisation effort. Collaborating with a dynamic team, the engineer will be responsible for hands-on tasks including infrastructure configuration, supplier engagement, and vulnerability remediation, contributing significantly to the project's success.

Responsibilities

  • Support the migration of data centre-hosted workloads into Azure.
  • Assist with planning, building, testing, and production cutover activities.
  • Configure the landing zone, networking, and infrastructure.
  • Aid in application and server migration tasks.
  • Engage with suppliers and validate technical requirements.
  • Review and remediate high-priority vulnerabilities from pen testing.
  • Implement remediation activities across server and infrastructure platforms.
  • Validate security controls through testing and evidence collection.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with Azure Cloud (IaaS/PaaS, networking, identity, monitoring).
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, ARM, or PowerShell.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID, and Group Policy.
  • Experience with backup and restore solutions such as Veeam or CommVault.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server, Azure SQL, and high availability/disaster recovery solutions.
  • Experience in monitoring tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, or SolarWinds.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team during a period of transformation.
