Overview
The Senior Design Engineer will be integral to the Engineering Design Team, focusing on the design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Collaborating with Principal Engineers and multidisciplinary teams, the role emphasizes the provision of high-quality engineering solutions while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to innovative practices within the water sector.
Responsibilities
- Deliver civil engineering designs for water and wastewater projects according to project requirements and industry standards.
- Produce and review design calculations, technical reports, and supporting documentation.
- Support multidisciplinary design activities and ensure effective integration across engineering disciplines.
- Ensure design outputs comply with relevant legislation and quality procedures.
- Provide technical support to procurement and construction teams.
- Attend design reviews and site visits to ensure project alignment and quality standards.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in the municipal water and wastewater sector with utility clients.
- Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards it.
- Strong understanding of water and wastewater assets and related design considerations.
- Experience with health and safety legislation and quality management systems.
- Ability to produce engineering calculations and design documentation.
- Familiarity with NEC contracts and design planning processes.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with various stakeholders.
