Overview
We are seeking an experienced Android Developer for a six-month contract position focused on building and integrating features for a high-traffic mobile app within a public sector organization. The contractor will work primarily remotely, with one day in Manchester each week, collaborating with a dedicated team that values clean architecture and extensive test coverage. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a critical application at a national scale.
Responsibilities
- Integrate internal government services into a mobile app, building features end to end.
- Maintain high standards of testing and quality throughout development.
- Utilize Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and MVVM architecture for app development.
- Implement automated testing across unit, integration, and UI testing frameworks.
- Manage CI/CD processes using GitHub Actions.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure best practices are followed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Android development using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Clean Architecture.
- Strong understanding of MVVM and automated testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with GitHub Actions for CI/CD implementation.
- Experience with Java and K6 for performance testing is a plus.
- Prior experience in the government or public sector is required.
- Eligibility for SC clearance is mandatory.
