Overview
The Azure DevOps Deployment Consultant will engage with a seasoned technology team on an initial one-month contract, with potential extensions. In this hands-on role, the consultant will focus on enhancing and troubleshooting an existing Azure DevOps CI/CD environment while providing support and knowledge transfer to the internal development team. The position emphasizes application deployment and release management, particularly in Windows/IIS setups, rather than cloud infrastructure or Kubernetes.
Responsibilities
- Review existing Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines to identify issues.
- Improve and optimise build, release, and deployment pipelines.
- Support application deployments into on-premise Windows Server/IIS environments.
- Troubleshoot failed or slow builds and deployments.
- Evaluate and enhance code analysis processes, including SonarQube.
- Investigate performance issues with SonarQube integrations.
- Enhance automation across build, test, release, and deployment processes.
- Provide technical guidance and coaching to the existing development team.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps.
- Proficient in Azure Pipelines, YAML pipelines, and release management.
- Experience deploying applications in on-premise Windows Server and IIS environments.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD and application build and deployment processes.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and improving deployment pipelines.
- Familiarity with SonarQube or similar code quality tools is desirable.
- PowerShell or similar scripting/automation experience is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with development teams.
