Overview
We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer with expertise in Azure cloud services to join our dynamic team on a 3-month remote contract outside IR35. This position will involve working on a mature Azure-based backend platform that supports healthcare services, delivering impactful solutions for connected patient care while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high standards and technical excellence.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver backend services utilizing C#, .NET 6+ and Azure Functions, ensuring robust and scalable solutions. Build and maintain data access, orchestration, and notification services following clean architecture principles and dependency injection patterns. Maintain and optimize Azure SQL stored procedures, schemas, and data access patterns within a mature production environment. Design and implement event-driven integrations using Azure Service Bus, including message ingestion, transformation, and error handling. Design, develop, and consume REST APIs via Azure API Management, ensuring secure and efficient endpoints. Write comprehensive automated unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability. Own and manage CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using Azure DevOps, facilitating smooth release cycles. Monitor production services through Application Insights and Azure Monitor, diagnosing issues proactively and implementing fixes.
Requirements
- Proficiency in C# and .NET 6+ frameworks, with strong knowledge of dependency injection, SOLID principles, and clean architecture. Hands-on experience with Azure Functions, including triggers, bindings, and fan-out/fan-in patterns. Expertise in designing and managing REST APIs using Azure API Management with a focus on security and scalability. Deep understanding of Azure Service Bus for message-driven processing, including error handling, retries, and dead-letter queues. Strong skills in Azure SQL, including stored procedures, schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning. Experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipeline creation, automation, and deployment management. Operational experience with monitoring tools like Application Insights and Azure Monitor for proactive issue resolution. Proven ability to work independently and manage tasks from conception to deployment, showing initiative and accountability.
