Overview
In this role, the Senior Backend Engineer will join a leading eCommerce client's Platform Team, focusing on designing and developing scalable and resilient backend services and APIs using Node.js. The position emphasizes collaboration on high-traffic systems and offers flexible working arrangements, including one day per week in the Central London office.
Responsibilities
- Build backend services and APIs using Node.js.
- Utilize AWS services such as SQS, SNS, and Lambda for event-driven architecture.
- Practice Test Driven Development (TDD) and apply Domain Driven Design (DDD) to model complex business domains.
- Collaborate with the platform team to manage systems handling high traffic and transaction volumes.
- Engage in microservices development with a focus on CI/CD practices.
- Implement observability tooling to monitor application performance.
Requirements
- Strong senior-level experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services, including SQS, SNS, and Lambda.
- Solid background in API design and development.
- Demonstrated expertise in TDD and DDD methodologies.
- Experience with microservices architecture and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent communication skills with a background in pair programming and cross-functional collaboration.
