Overview
As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer on a 12-month contract, you will take on a hands-on role supporting both GCP and AWS environments within a collaborative team. This position offers you genuine autonomy to design and implement scalable cloud solutions using Infrastructure as Code principles. You will work closely with development teams, focusing on automation, security, and performance optimization, contributing significantly to the architectural decisions that shape the infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain Terraform modules and configurations across GCP and AWS environments.
- Build and manage Ansible playbooks for configuration management, deployment, and automation.
- Architect scalable, highly available cloud solutions that meet business and security requirements.
- Collaborate with development teams to align infrastructure with application and performance needs.
- Monitor cloud resources and drive cost optimization and governance best practices.
- Implement security controls, compliance frameworks, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Automate routine operational tasks to improve reliability and reduce manual effort.
- Lead incident response and troubleshooting across complex cloud infrastructure.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or a similar role.
- Strong hands-on expertise with GCP and AWS services.
- Advanced experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code development.
- Extensive experience with Ansible for configuration management and automation.
- Strong Linux/Unix administration and networking fundamentals.
- Proficiency in Bash and Python for scripting and automation.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and their integration with infrastructure automation.
