Overview
We are seeking a Senior Node.js Contractor to join a dynamic and fast-growing digital business dedicated to enhancing its engineering capabilities. This role is ideal for polyglot engineers who possess a strong foundation in software engineering across multiple technologies, focusing on building and maintaining high-scale backend services within a collaborative product team. The contractor will engage with various teams to contribute to architectural decisions, mentor fellow engineers, and promote best practices in software development.
Responsibilities
- Build and evolve high-scale backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Design and implement scalable and maintainable software solutions.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Platform teams.
- Contribute to architectural design and technical decision-making processes.
- Write high-quality, well-tested code adhering to best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering excellence.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in commercial software engineering.
- Strong expertise in Node.js and TypeScript.
- Experience in building distributed, cloud-native applications.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Java, Go, Python, C#, Kotlin, or similar.
- Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience working in modern Agile product teams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
