Business Analyst

Overview

The Business Analyst will play a crucial role in the delivery of digital banking projects for a dynamic challenger bank, acting as a liaison between business goals and engineering execution. This hands-on position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including product owners, engineers, and compliance teams, to translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements, ensuring alignment with technical capabilities and user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product Owners, engineers, and other stakeholders to define and deliver digital banking features.
  • Translate business problems into user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, and functional specifications.
  • Act as a partner to software engineering teams, providing technical insights to challenge assumptions and clarify delivery options.
  • Ensure that digital solutions meet usability, security, compliance, and commercial outcome standards.
  • Work closely with developers to resolve ambiguities and formulate actionable requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage the backlog and contribute to agile delivery practices.
  • Participate in iterative delivery of digital banking products, focusing on customer-facing and operational improvements.

Requirements

  • Expertise as a Business Analyst with a background in software engineering or technical delivery.
  • Experience in digital product development within banking, fintech, or similar industries.
  • Strong knowledge of agile methodologies, including user stories and backlog management.
  • Experience discussing APIs, integrations, and system behaviors with engineering teams.
  • Proficient in turning ambiguity into clear decisions and requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a track record of effective stakeholder management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of digital banking processes such as payments, lending, and customer onboarding.
