Overview
The Civil Design Engineer will play a vital role in delivering high-quality civil engineering designs within the regulated water sector. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the engineer will develop safe, compliant, and efficient solutions, while also mentoring CAD technicians and contributing to all stages of design projects. This position offers the chance to engage in meaningful work that contributes to essential water infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Produce civil design deliverables to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Prepare calculations, drawings, reports, specifications, and risk assessments.
- Carry out hydraulic calculations and develop hydraulic profiles.
- Mentor and direct CAD technicians.
- Support project planning, design estimates, and design reviews.
- Attend and present at design and project meetings.
Requirements
- 5–10+ years of experience within the regulated water industry.
- Proven experience in delivering water sector designs (clean water and/or wastewater).
- Strong IT and engineering drawing skills.
- Membership in a professional body (working towards or holding CEng preferred).
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and design standards.
