Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud Infrastructure Consultant to join our team on an initial 8-week contract. This role focuses on delivering infrastructure automation projects within an existing AWS and Kubernetes environment. The consultant will work closely with a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, taking ownership of tasks and ensuring successful project delivery through automation using Infrastructure as Code.
Responsibilities
- Build reusable Terraform modules for EKS, DNS, and RBAC.
- Automate existing AWS infrastructure currently managed manually.
- Migrate Kubernetes routing from NGINX Ingress to Gateway API.
- Integrate Terraform deployments into GitLab CI/CD.
- Improve infrastructure consistency, repeatability, and deployment controls.
- Document the environment and hand over to the permanent infrastructure engineer.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS and EKS/Kubernetes.
- Advanced Terraform development skills, including reusable modules.
- Proficiency in GitLab CI/CD for infrastructure deployment.
- Knowledge of AWS networking, including VPCs, subnets, and Route53.
- Experience with Kubernetes RBAC and AWS IAM.
- Ability to bring manually managed infrastructure under Terraform.
- Experience with NGINX Ingress and Gateway API is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with observability, Redis, and database management is a plus.
