Overview
In this role as a Platform Engineer, you will lead significant initiatives to modernize a cloud platform within a high-growth fintech company. You will work closely with engineering leadership to automate infrastructure management, enhance scalability, and develop operational resilience through your expertise in Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code practices. This position is critical in shaping the way engineering teams deploy, secure, and operate their services.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver Terraform modules to manage Kubernetes clusters and associated cloud resources.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning via GitLab CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Establish DNS and standardized resource tagging frameworks through Terraform.
- Build reusable RBAC modules and define permission models for access governance.
- Lead the migration from legacy Ingress NGINX to Gateway API architecture.
- Restructure application routing and ingress management for improved maintainability.
- Embed observability tooling and monitoring capabilities into cluster deployments.
- Produce architecture diagrams and documentation that set operational standards.
Requirements
- Strong experience in building and operating Kubernetes platforms in cloud environments.
- Deep Terraform expertise, including creation of reusable modules and governance patterns.
- Proven experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
- Strong understanding of networking, DNS, VPCs, subnets, and cloud infrastructure design.
- Hands-on experience with Gateway API and application traffic management technologies.
- Experience delivering Infrastructure as Code programs from design to deployment.
- Ability to engage senior technical stakeholders and drive platform standards.
