Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable Cyber Security Architect to join a dynamic team focused on large-scale transformation projects in the telecommunications sector. In this remote role, the contractor will collaborate with various teams, including architecture, engineering, and cloud services, to embed security into critical platforms and services. This position offers an opportunity to influence strategic security decisions while working on innovative technologies, including next-generation 4G/5G solutions.
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain secure architecture principles, standards, and reference architectures.
- Conduct security architecture and design reviews across cloud, infrastructure, applications, and network environments.
- Perform threat modelling and security risk assessments.
- Design secure-by-design solutions across cloud, hybrid infrastructure, applications, identity, and network environments.
- Support the implementation of Zero Trust security principles.
- Provide architectural guidance across AWS and Azure environments.
- Define security controls including IAM, PAM, encryption, network segmentation, monitoring, and vulnerability management.
- Engage with senior technical and business stakeholders to influence security decisions across major programmes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Cyber Security Architect or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise security architecture and secure-by-design principles.
- Experience securing AWS and/or Azure environments.
- Hands-on experience with threat modelling and security risk assessments.
- Understanding of IAM, PAM, and modern authentication solutions.
- Familiarity with network security practices, including segmentation and firewalls.
- Experience reviewing applications, infrastructure, cloud, and network architectures.
- Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
