Overview
We are seeking a skilled Contract SQL Developer to join a dynamic technology environment focused on business-critical, data-intensive systems. The role involves working with complex datasets and requires a high level of expertise in SQL Server and T-SQL. As a key member of the engineering team, the contractor will develop, maintain, and optimize SQL-based solutions to support high-volume operations, with the possibility of contract extensions beyond the initial period ending in December 2026.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex SQL and T-SQL solutions.
- Optimize and maintain stored procedures, queries, and database objects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve SQL performance issues.
- Conduct query optimization and performance tuning across large datasets.
- Support existing SQL Server applications and databases.
- Investigate existing solutions to identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to translate requirements into database solutions.
- Produce clear technical documentation as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience with SQL Server development.
- Advanced knowledge of T-SQL and complex SQL queries.
- Experience in stored procedure development and query optimization.
- Strong understanding of relational databases and data modeling.
- Ability to work with large and complex datasets.
- Problem-solving skills for investigating existing SQL solutions.
- Familiarity with Git and source control practices.
- Exposure to cloud technologies, particularly Google BigQuery, is advantageous.
