Overview
The Data Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in a large-scale digital transformation project, acting as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical data teams. This position requires a deep understanding of reporting requirements to ensure the development of meaningful data products rather than just documentation of requests. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, the analyst will challenge and refine business needs, ensuring the final deliverables effectively answer critical business questions, all while maintaining ownership of the product's utility.
Responsibilities
- Work with stakeholders to understand and challenge reporting requirements.
- Translate business needs into actionable requirements for data and BI teams.
- Understand the underlying data, models, and dependencies involved.
- Collaborate with developers through the delivery, testing, and validation processes.
- Take ownership of the functionality and usefulness of the finished data products.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst with strong data literacy.
- Background in BI, reporting, or data products strongly preferred.
- Comfortable discussing data models, dimensional modelling, star schemas, and semantic models.
- Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and/or Databricks is advantageous.
- Knowledge of D365 F&O is a plus, but not required.
