Overview
The Business Central Developer will play a critical role in enhancing a business-critical ERP platform within a dedicated technology team. This hands-on contract position involves collaborating closely with the ERP Technical Lead to develop new functionalities, create integrations, and improve the overall Business Central environment, with a focus on delivering solutions from initial requirements gathering through to testing and release.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop Business Central extensions using AL.
- Build new functionality across finance, operations, sales, purchasing, inventory, and customer workflows.
- Develop and maintain integrations between Business Central and wider platforms using APIs and web services.
- Translate business and functional requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Collaborate with the ERP Technical Lead on solution design and implementation.
- Take ownership of development through build, testing, and release.
- Support and improve CI/CD and deployment processes.
- Troubleshoot Business Central customisations, integrations, and production issues.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central development.
- Expertise in AL development, including extensions and customisations.
- Experience in building APIs, web services, and system integrations.
- Familiarity with developing and supporting live Business Central environments.
- Good understanding of CI/CD and controlled release processes.
- Ability to work independently and own development end-to-end.
- A pragmatic approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Ability to contribute to code reviews, testing standards, and technical documentation.
