Overview
We are seeking a Senior Python Developer to take on a critical role in a fully remote engineering team. In this broad, high-impact position, the contractor will work across the full stack, contributing to the development of complex data products that provide actionable insights for the education sector. Collaboration with Product, Engineering, and QA teams will be key as they build, scale, and maintain core platforms and services.
Responsibilities
- Build and scale front-end and back-end services.
- Develop APIs and data-driven product experiences.
- Design well-architected, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
- Drive automated testing, quality, and reliability.
- Lead code reviews and pair programming sessions.
- Mentor and support other engineers in the team.
- Contribute to technical discussions, workshops, and knowledge sharing.
- Help improve engineering processes, product quality, and delivery.
Requirements
- Strong commercial software engineering experience.
- Excellent Python and React development skills.
- Strong SQL and relational database experience.
- Full-stack development experience, from database through to UI.
- Experience designing and building APIs and services.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles such as SOLID, DRY, Clean Code, and TDD.
- Experience working with large-scale or complex systems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, Docker, Scrum/Agile, DDD, and enterprise systems is advantageous.
