Overview
We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer specializing in Azure to join our dynamic team on an initial 3-month remote contract. This role is critical in supporting a mature Azure-based backend platform for connected patient services in the digital healthcare sector, where you will take ownership of the entire software lifecycle, from design and development to production support. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality and secure backend solutions that directly impact healthcare services.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver backend services using C#, .NET 6+, and Azure Functions.
- Create and maintain data access layers and orchestration workflows following clean architecture principles.
- Develop and optimize Azure SQL stored procedures and schemas to support a production database environment.
- Implement event-driven integrations utilizing Azure Service Bus for message processing.
- Design and publish RESTful APIs through Azure API Management.
- Develop automated unit and integration tests to support CI/CD processes.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for automation of deployment workflows.
- Monitor live services for issues using Application Insights and Azure Monitor.
Requirements
- Proficiency in C# and .NET 6+ with experience in building production-grade applications.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Functions, including triggers and serverless patterns.
- Solid understanding of Azure SQL, stored procedures, and performance optimization.
- Experience with Azure Service Bus for event-driven architectures.
- Knowledge of Azure API Management for securing RESTful APIs.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with application monitoring tools like Application Insights.
- Strong communication skills for technical documentation and collaboration.
