Overview
We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join a key Finance BI transformation initiative, focusing on migrating finance reporting into a consolidated Microsoft Fabric FinanceBI semantic model. In this highly visible role, the contractor will collaborate with Finance stakeholders, Architects, Developers, and the wider BI team to ensure the successful delivery of scalable reporting and analytics solutions while providing leadership within the BA function.
Responsibilities
- Lead requirements gathering workshops with Finance stakeholders.
- Convert business requirements into detailed functional specifications.
- Act as the key liaison between Finance and technology teams.
- Define data model, reporting, and governance requirements.
- Support the design of scalable ETL and reporting solutions.
- Own UAT planning, execution support, and defect triage processes.
- Design and coordinate change management activities for go-lives.
- Produce process maps, data dictionaries, and requirements documentation.
Requirements
- Strong experience as a Senior or Lead Business Analyst delivering BI, Data Warehouse, Analytics or Data Platform programmes.
- Proven track record gathering requirements, producing detailed functional specifications, and leading UAT processes.
- Strong stakeholder management across both Finance and Technology teams.
- Experience leading or mentoring Business Analysts within a project environment.
- Strong understanding of data modelling, reporting, and analytics solutions.
- Experience delivering finance reporting workstreams, such as Case Margin Reporting and Working Capital Reporting.
- Highly desirable: experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and SQL Server/SSAS environments.
