Overview
The Data Analyst (Research) will play a crucial role within a public sector organization by managing and analyzing research databases. The contractor will work within a multi-disciplinary team and is expected to effectively communicate analytical findings to stakeholders through creative reporting. The position is hybrid, allowing for up to 2 days a week of remote work, and is offered on a contract basis for 23 months.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the management of research databases and relationships.
- Conduct data cleaning and querying, maintaining Excel workbooks.
- Manipulate data using Excel and Power BI to create analytical reports.
- Analyze information for research purposes and communicate findings effectively.
- Take ownership of individual project objectives and targets.
- Support copy-editing and proofreading reports for consistency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with team members to establish effective working relationships.
- Assist with additional tasks within the Policy and Research Team as needed.
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including Power Query and Macros.
- Experience with MS Access, Power BI, and programming languages for data manipulation such as SQL, R, and Python.
- Proven experience in gathering, managing, and analyzing complex data for research.
- Experience in handling large-scale research projects and datasets.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Experience working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with a strong command of English grammar and usage.
