Overview
We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer to join a mature Azure platform team in a mainly remote capacity, with occasional travel to Derby. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing and supporting backend services across a live digital platform, working independently and engaging closely with product and technical stakeholders from the outset.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance backend services using C#/.NET and Azure technologies.
- Deliver production-quality code across the full software delivery lifecycle.
- Collaborate with product and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and shape solutions.
- Conduct production support and testing of backend services.
- Implement DevOps practices and manage deployment pipelines within Azure DevOps.
- Integrate new features and perform integration work across the platform.
- Maintain and optimize Azure SQL databases, including stored procedures and schema changes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in backend development with C#/.NET.
- Strong knowledge of Azure Functions and Azure API Management.
- Experience with Azure Service Bus and Azure SQL, including performance tuning.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices.
- Experience working in Agile Scrum environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of tasks without close supervision.
- Familiarity with Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates is a plus.
