Overview
The Data & Software Engineer will contribute significantly to enhancing a digital business's data platforms focused on commercial and operational insights. The contractor will collaborate closely with Data Engineering and Analytics teams while developing scalable applications and integrations to improve data management and reporting. This fully remote, 6-month contract role is suited for candidates with a strong background in data-intensive environments, particularly in sectors like online gaming and e-commerce.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services supporting commercial reporting and operational data products.
- Process and manage large-scale commercial and revenue datasets.
- Build integrations with external partners and third-party platforms.
- Develop integrations between internal systems to improve data accessibility and efficiency.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers and Analytics teams on reporting and insight generation.
- Support initiatives focused on user and performance data.
- Improve data quality, reliability, and scalability across critical business systems.
- Deliver enhancements to existing data and reporting platforms.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with PHP.
- Strong commercial experience with Python.
- Excellent PostgreSQL skills.
- Proven backend engineering background.
- Experience building APIs and system integrations.
- Experience working within complex, data-intensive environments.
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices.
- Exposure to data warehousing and modern analytics platforms.
