Overview
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in PHP and Python to join an established engineering team focusing on commercial and performance data systems. This role involves hands-on software engineering, contributing to the enhancement of both a PHP-based commercial platform and Python-based partner integrations. The engineer will collaborate closely with data engineering and analytics teams to improve data automation, reliability, and insights.
Responsibilities
- Develop and improve backend functionality across PHP and Python.
- Build and maintain partner integrations for data systems.
- Work with third-party APIs and web scrapers to gather commercial data.
- Enhance the automation, reliability, and accuracy of data flows.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and Analytics teams to evolve reporting structures.
- Support the transition of reporting from monthly to weekly and daily insights.
Requirements
- Strong backend software engineering background.
- Commercial experience with PHP and Python.
- Proficient in PostgreSQL and API integrations.
- Experience working with data-heavy applications preferred.
- Knowledge of web scraping, Snowflake, Airflow, and AWS is a plus.
- Ability to quickly adapt to PHP if not currently used in the role.
