Overview
The Data Migration Analyst will support a high-profile fintech company in a short-term project focused on migrating their executed contracts into a new internal contract hub. The analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the successful extraction, profiling, cleansing, and reconciling of data from multiple disparate sources to create a reliable and accurate dataset. This role demands strong data handling skills and a meticulous approach to data quality and mapping.
Responsibilities
- Conduct source discovery and profiling of all data systems to assess data quality and access routes.
- Write and execute scripts for extracting structured and unstructured metadata from various platforms.
- Cleanse and de-duplicate data to create a consolidated staging dataset.
- Develop a metadata schema and perform mapping against agreed core fields.
- Run sample migrations to validate mapping logic and transformation rules.
- Execute full-scale migrations into the new repository structure.
- Document data lineage and produce handover notes detailing the migration process and any anomalies.
Requirements
- Proficient in SQL and at least one scripting language such as Python.
- Experience with data profiling, cleansing, and de-duplication from various sources.
- Ability to reconcile structured and unstructured data into a unified dataset.
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to data accuracy and traceability.
- Judgment to escalate issues rather than make assumptions with sensitive data.
- Experience handling confidential information in a secure manner.
