Overview
The Data Modeller will work with a global education technology organization to support a major data transformation initiative. Collaborating closely with the Chief Data & Technical Architect, this role focuses on defining enterprise-wide data structures that underpin the organization’s digital products. The contractor will play a critical role in establishing standardized data definitions and governance across a complex, multi-system environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop enterprise conceptual and logical data models.
- Define canonical/golden customer and learner records.
- Establish shared taxonomies, business glossaries, and data definitions.
- Analyze complex data across multiple legacy and modern platforms.
- Perform source-to-target mapping and identify data quality issues.
- Define data models supporting APIs, integrations, and event-driven architectures.
- Facilitate workshops to establish consistent enterprise-wide data definitions.
- Maintain data models, mappings, and governance artifacts throughout the program.
Requirements
- Experience in Education Technology or Global SaaS corporations.
- Strong enterprise conceptual and logical data modeling experience.
- Familiarity with complex, multi-system environments.
- Knowledge of MDM, canonical/golden records, and taxonomy management.
- Proficient in SQL and data analysis capabilities.
- Experience with recognized data modeling tools.
- Understanding of APIs, integration patterns, and event-driven architecture.
- Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.
