Overview
In this contract role, the Data Scientist will focus on labour productivity optimisation within a large, multi-site organisation, specifically in the hospitality sector. Collaborating closely with stakeholders from Finance and Operations, the contractor will leverage their expertise in data analytics to drive measurable improvements in workforce efficiency and productivity metrics.
Responsibilities
- Analyze labour productivity and workforce data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement labour modelling and demand-led scheduling solutions.
- Collaborate with Finance and Operations to translate data insights into actionable strategies.
- Manage and interpret rota, time & attendance, and payroll data to drive efficiency.
- Utilize advanced SQL and BI tools to create data visualizations and reports.
- Support the delivery of a major workforce productivity programme across multiple sites.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of analytics or data science experience in a multi-site setting, preferably within hospitality, retail, leisure, or QSR.
- Proven experience in labour optimisation, delivering measurable improvements in productivity metrics.
- Strong skills in SQL, with experience in data warehousing tools such as Snowflake or dbt.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel for financial modelling and understanding of P&L and labour costs.
- Experience with BI development tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Omni.
- Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders effectively and report results to finance and operations teams.
