Overview
We are seeking a Technical Lead specializing in AI for a contract role focused on rapid innovation and problem-solving within a global payments organization. The successful candidate will work closely with business teams to identify high-value opportunities for AI and automation, quickly transforming ideas into prototypes and proofs of value. This position emphasizes hands-on AI development in a hybrid setting, allowing for significant autonomy and direct interaction with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with business stakeholders to identify high-value AI and automation opportunities.
- Break down ambiguous business problems using a structured, first-principles approach.
- Translate business pain points into practical and testable technology solutions.
- Assess the most appropriate technical approach, including generative AI and workflow automation.
- Rapidly create or assist in creating proofs of concept and proofs of value.
- Test prototypes with users and incorporate feedback quickly.
- Make evidence-based recommendations on whether initiatives should progress or pivot.
- Hand successful pilots into Product and Engineering teams with clear evidence.
Requirements
- Strong background in technology, digital, data or AI consulting.
- Experience solving ambiguous business problems in fast-moving environments.
- Hands-on experience with modern AI tools and rapid prototype development.
- Strong structured problem-solving and consulting skills.
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Good understanding of modern product and software delivery approaches.
- Ability to assess multiple technical options rather than defaulting to a single solution.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to quantify potential value.
