Overview
We are looking for an experienced Platform / DevOps Engineer to engage in a significant project with a financial services consultancy, focusing on the support and enhancement of a high-throughput enterprise API platform. In this role, you will work collaboratively to ensure system health and reliability across cloud environments while also driving automation and engineering improvements to optimize platform performance.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage a Kubernetes-based platform across public and private cloud environments.
- Drive end-to-end incident response processes, including root-cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
- Build automation solutions, Helm charts, and diagnostic tooling to streamline operations and enhance performance.
- Implement observability measures to ensure actionable monitoring alerts through updated runbooks.
- Proactively manage capacity scaling and oversee regular software and infrastructure upgrades.
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience with production-grade Kubernetes; Service Mesh experience is a plus.
- Strong Linux administration and command-line troubleshooting skills.
- Practical experience with major cloud providers, preferably AWS or Azure.
- Ability to debug complex systems across all layers, from application code to infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, or Tempo is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm), CI/CD pipelines, or scripting in Python or Java is beneficial.
