Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer contractor to join a consultancy team focused on scaling DevOps and engineering practices for a key project. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps engineers, architects, and developers, primarily working with AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform. This role emphasizes leveraging a background in software engineering to drive cloud-based, containerized solutions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable DevOps solutions.
- Implement and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS and relevant services.
- Containerize applications and orchestrate using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Automate deployment processes utilizing CI/CD principles and Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
- Provide coding support and enhancements in object-oriented languages, ideally Python, Go, or Java.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of DevOps practices within the project.
- Engage in knowledge sharing and best practices with team members.
Requirements
- Strong experience with AWS and associated services.
- Proficient in containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Understanding of CI/CD processes and automation practices.
- Solid background in software engineering with proficiency in an OO language (Python, Go, or Java).
- Previous experience in finance or regulated environments is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment with in-office collaboration.
