Overview
We are seeking an Embedded Software Contractor to join a dynamic team focused on developing device drivers for embedded Linux platforms. Working in a hybrid environment, the contractor will collaborate on exciting R&D projects with a strong emphasis on firmware development for OMAP and iMX6 hardware. Responsibilities
- Develop embedded Linux firmware for target hardware platforms, including kernel configuration and BSP updates.
- Implement software to support platform bring-up and peripheral integration (e.g. UART, SPI, I2C, PCIe).
- Integrate firmware into the overall system, ensuring compatibility with existing software components.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues related to firmware and hardware/software interactions.
- Produce supporting artifacts including design documentation, test specifications, and release notes.
- Deliver embedded Linux firmware components such as kernel, BSP, and drivers.
- Update or create software modules integrated into the platform.
- Provide documentation of testing and validation results, including issue resolution reports.
Requirements
- Proven experience in embedded Linux firmware development.
- Strong knowledge of device drivers and kernel configuration.
- Experience with hardware interfaces (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C, PCIe).
- Familiarity with software integration and compatibility verification.
- Ability to investigate and resolve firmware-related technical issues.
- Experience producing design documentation and test specifications.
- Eligibility for a BPSS check is required.
