Overview
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the development of a high-volume, real-time technology platform in the gaming and betting industry. This senior, hands-on role combines engineering management with technical leadership, overseeing a team of engineers while directly engaging with software architecture, code reviews, and complex engineering challenges. The successful candidate will drive improvements in platform reliability and quality, influence architectural decisions, and contribute to building a high-performing technical team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of software engineers, overseeing delivery and performance.
- Act as the technical authority, owning architectural decisions and solution design.
- Provide hands-on expertise in C#, ASP.NET, and SQL Server, supporting development challenges.
- Conduct code reviews to uphold high standards of quality and performance.
- Enhance the reliability of high-volume real-time systems by addressing complex issues.
- Improve monitoring and observability to identify system inconsistencies and failures.
- Establish and oversee testing strategies to ensure robust software validation.
- Mentor team members and promote engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Previous experience in gaming, iGaming, or sports betting is essential.
- Strong software engineering background with C#, ASP.NET / ASP.NET Core and SQL Server.
- Proven ability to manage and develop software engineering teams effectively.
- Experience in software architecture and making ownership decisions on technical quality.
- Hands-on capability to review and write code as needed.
- Familiarity with complex, high-volume distributed systems.
- Knowledge of software testing strategies, including unit and integration testing.
- Strong communication skills and experience working with third-party vendors.
