Overview
We are seeking a contract Staff Full Stack Engineer with extensive experience in Rust and Java, complemented by skills in React and Python. The role will involve working with a fast-scaling tech company to modernize backend services, enhance frontend experiences, and influence architectural decisions. As part of a collaborative team, you will tackle complex technical challenges and contribute to the development of high-performance, reliable software in a fully remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend services using Rust and Java.
- Build high-performance and reliable systems focused on scalability and maintainability.
- Develop and maintain modern customer-facing applications using React.
- Contribute to backend services, APIs, and integrations using Python.
- Take ownership of complex features from architectural design to production delivery.
- Collaborate with product, design, and platform teams for impactful functionality.
- Influence technical direction, engineering standards, and architectural decisions.
- Apply best practices for performance, reliability, testing, and security.
Requirements
- Extensive commercial experience as a Senior or Staff-level Full Stack / Backend Engineer.
- Strong backend engineering experience with Rust and/or Java, with exposure to both preferred.
- Solid understanding of concurrent programming, distributed systems, and performance-focused backend development.
- Experience developing modern frontend applications using React.
- Hands-on experience with Python for backend services and APIs.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and scalable architecture.
- Ability to design, build, and maintain production-grade systems.
- Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools in an engineering workflow.
