Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Python Developer for a contract position that focuses on critical defence projects within a defence cloud environment. The successful candidate will collaborate with expert engineering teams to develop software solutions for areas including data processing, artificial intelligence, and DevOps infrastructure. This role offers flexibility through on-site or hybrid working arrangements and requires UK Eyes Only security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain Python software for defence cloud integration.
- Contribute to data management, artificial intelligence, automation, and tooling projects.
- Design and support modern DevOps tools, including CI/CD pipelines.
- Manage container orchestration using platforms like Red Hat OpenShift and HashiCorp Vault.
- Implement automated deployment pipelines with Tekton, GitHub, and ArgoCD.
- Collaborate with engineering teams via Jira to meet project milestones and standards.
- Design scalable software solutions that comply with industry standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Python development and building production-quality software.
- Strong knowledge of cloud environments, containerization, and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Quay, and security tools like HashiCorp Vault.
- Experience designing automated pipelines with Tekton, GitHub, and ArgoCD.
- Knowledge of code quality/security tools like SonarQube and Anchore.
- Experience in an agile development environment using Jira.
- Eligible for or holder of SC security clearance for defence project access.
- Exposure to AI technologies and data platforms preferred.
