Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Javascript Engineer to join a thriving digital business and contribute to its engineering initiatives within a hybrid work model. The contractor will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Platform teams to build high-scale backend services using Node.js and TypeScript, while also mentoring fellow engineers and driving best practices in software development.
Responsibilities
- Build and evolve high-scale backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Design clean, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Platform teams to align on project goals.
- Contribute to architecture and technical decision-making processes.
- Write high-quality, well-tested code in collaboration with team members.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
- Engage in continuous learning and adaptation of new technologies.
Requirements
- 10+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
- Strong expertise in Node.js and TypeScript.
- Experience in building distributed, cloud-native applications.
- Polyglot mindset with exposure to additional programming languages such as Java, Go, Python, C#, or Kotlin.
- Solid understanding of APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience working within agile product teams.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
