Overview
We are looking for a Staff Full Stack Engineer on a contract basis to join a rapidly expanding tech company focused on platform evolution. In this fully remote role, you will be collaborating with a skilled engineering team to design and implement scalable backend services primarily using Rust and Java, while also enhancing frontend applications with React and Python. This position is ideal for a seasoned contractor who thrives in addressing complex technical challenges and aims to have a significant impact on product development.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend services using Rust and Java.
- Build high-performance, reliable systems concentrating on scalability and maintainability.
- Develop and maintain modern customer-facing applications using React.
- Contribute to backend services, APIs, and integrations utilizing Python.
- Take ownership of complex features from architectural design to production delivery.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and platform teams to deliver impactful functionalities.
- Influence technical direction, engineering standards, and architectural decisions.
- Apply best practices regarding performance, reliability, testing, and security.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a Senior or Staff-level Full Stack / Backend Engineer in production environments.
- Strong backend engineering skills with Rust and Java, ideally both.
- Solid knowledge of concurrent programming and distributed systems.
- Experience developing modern frontend applications using React.
- Hands-on experience with Python, particularly in backend services and APIs.
- Familiar with REST APIs, microservices, and scalable architecture.
- Experience designing and maintaining production-grade systems.
- Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools in engineering workflows.
