Overview
We are seeking a skilled Python Developer to join a dynamic data science team focused on building data applications and automated pipelines within a fully remote environment. The contractor will collaborate closely with business users and team members to transform manual processes into efficient solutions, utilizing AI coding tools to enhance development speed and delivery. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on delivery capacity, bringing projects from prototype to production.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy Python web applications, primarily using Shiny, from rapid prototyping to production.
- Create responsive and intuitive user interfaces for data and AI applications.
- Integrate applications with Snowflake, Snowflake Cortex, and REST APIs.
- Build and maintain automated data pipelines using Python and SQL.
- Transition Excel and file-based processes into reliable, automated Snowflake pipelines.
- Utilize AI coding agents for accelerated prototyping, development, and testing.
- Design reusable application components that support multiple business functions.
- Work directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure solution delivery.
Requirements
- 5 to 10 years of hands-on development experience in Python, especially in building web applications and user interfaces.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with Snowflake.
- Demonstrated experience integrating Python applications with Snowflake and REST APIs.
- Proven track record of converting manual processes into automated data solutions.
- Familiarity with AI coding agents for coding, debugging, testing, and delivery.
- Solid engineering practices, including version control with Git, automated testing, and CI/CD.
- Excellent communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Experience with ETL/ELT pipeline design and orchestration tools like Dagster is a plus.
