Overview
The ERP Data Migration Lead will be a pivotal member of the technology and data team within an evolving UK retail organization. This hands-on role demands a seasoned professional with deep expertise in ERP data migration and transformation, tasked with overseeing the complete data migration lifecycle while ensuring collaboration across various business and technical teams. The successful candidate will not only manage complex migration challenges but also drive high-quality migration solutions to support the organization’s ERP transformation initiative.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end ERP data migration process, from discovery to go-live.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to ensure accurate data extraction, transformation, and validation.
- Develop and maintain source-to-target mappings and transformation rules.
- Execute data profiling, cleansing, and reconciliation activities to ensure data integrity.
- Investigate source system issues using SQL and other technical tools.
- Establish validation and reconciliation controls to drive data quality improvements.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation related to migration processes and decisions.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to address migration challenges and align on technical solutions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in ERP data migration, particularly in retail, e-commerce, or FMCG sectors.
- Strong SQL skills and practical experience with complex enterprise data environments.
- Familiarity with data engineering technologies, such as Python, Databricks, Apache Spark, and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
- Experience with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Expertise in data profiling, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation techniques.
- Strong analytical skills and a detail-oriented approach to resolving data issues.
