Overview
The contract Forward Deployed Engineer will play a pivotal role in initiating a new client engagement, taking charge of the earliest stages of project development without an established delivery team. This role involves hands-on technical responsibilities, frequent interactions with clients to determine project possibilities, and the creation of proofs of concept that can guide future engineering efforts. Responsibilities
- Lead the initial stages of client engagement and assess project feasibility.
- Develop solution architecture and make informed technology choices.
- Build proofs of concept that effectively validate designs for scalability.
- Define the engineering pipeline including tooling, workflows, and AI integration.
- Establish quality control measures, including testing protocols and code reviews.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer through collaborative pairing and documentation.
- Produce architectural decision records for clarity and guidance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in building production software using AI agents.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript or Python, including frameworks like NestJS or FastAPI.
- Demonstrated ability to break down complex problems and deliver effective solutions.
- Experience in client-facing roles, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent written communication skills for documentation and architectural decision records.
- Prior experience in consulting, professional services, or similar forward-deployed roles.
- Practical understanding of architecture development, suitable for POCs, pilots, or production environments.
