Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior GCP Network Engineer to join a specialist Google Cloud delivery team focusing on a significant financial services project. The role requires expertise in designing, automating, and supporting secure cloud networking within a regulated environment, emphasizing strong skills in Google Cloud infrastructure and automation. The engineer will collaborate with a diverse team, contributing to the establishment of infrastructure standards and ensuring deployment readiness.
Responsibilities
- Design and automate secure cloud networking solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
- Manage networking services using Terraform while collaborating with the DevOps delivery team.
- Implement and oversee Shared VPC architecture and hub-and-spoke network setups.
- Ensure network connectivity through Cloud Interconnect, HA VPN, and Cloud Routers.
- Develop and maintain firewall policies and security measures such as VPC Service Controls.
- Plan and manage IP addresses across enterprise environments to optimize network performance.
- Facilitate integrations with Kubernetes and GKE for network connectivity and private clusters.
- Contribute to enterprise CI/CD pipelines and automation efforts using Python and Go.
Requirements
- Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform, particularly in networking and automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
- Experience with Jenkins, Jenkinsfiles, and Groovy shared libraries.
- Ability to implement secure hybrid connectivity in regulated environments.
- Knowledge of network services such as Cloud NAT, Cloud DNS, and Cloud Armor.
- Background in building and managing enterprise CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in the financial services sector or similar regulated industries is advantageous.
